Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Conducts evaluations of hearing and recommends treatment to improve or conserve hearing ability.        

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, test, diagnose and manage disorders of human hearing, balance, tinnitus; interpret results of behavioral and objective measures. (40%)
  • Counsel patients about hearing health and the possible need for treatment/management. (10%)
  • Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for hearing aids and provide fitting, programming, and audiologic rehabilitation to ensure the best possible outcomes. (20%)
  • Perform assessment and nonmedical management of tinnitus. (20%)
  • Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers on the psychosocial adjustments of hearing loss. (10%)
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Master's Degree OR Doctorate in Audiology
  • Current PA Audiologist License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)

Preferred

  • 1-3 years hearing evaluation and management experience including dispensing and management of hearing assistive devices
  • 1-3 years experience in a healthcare setting

  • ​CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
