Audio Transcription Adjudicator

Overview:   We are looking for experienced Adjudicators to review and resolve discrepancies in word-level transcription and timestamp annotations for an English (US) speech data project. This role requires strong judgment to make final calls on flagged or disputed segments, ensuring quality and consistency across the annotation pipeline. What You Will Do:  Review annotations flagged by first-pass Annotators for disagreement or ambiguity Listen to audio clips and make final determinations on word-level segment boundaries and transcriptions Apply the project style guide consistently to resolve edge cases Provide clear rationale for adjudication decisions Identify patterns in annotator errors and feed back quality observations where needed Project Details:   Start Date: 7th Sept (Monday) Commitment:15–20 hours/week   Job Type: Freelance Location: Remote (India) Pay Rate: USD 7.00/hour   Requirements: US cultural expertise in English; excellent listening comprehension Prior experience in transcription/annotation QA, adjudication, or linguistic review preferred Strong ability to apply detailed guidelines consistently and make sound judgment calls High attention to detail and comfort working with ambiguity Reliable internet connection and quiet working environment with good headphones Join Welo Data to be part of an impactful project that helps make AI more culturally relevant and inclusive.
