What You Will Do *

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of Interiors Flammability Certification Engineers with support from Sr. Lead/Lead Engineers.

• Supervise and mentor the team of Flammability Certification Engineers, developing a culture of technical excellence, problem solving and continuous learning
• To lead a team with an appropriate mix of skill levels to deliver engineering solutions which bring benefit to the organization and it’s customers
• To provide technical leadership and direction to the team with focus on Flammability Certification
• Should be able to do capacity planning for all workload within the team
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance review and provide constructive feedback to the team members, focusing on their technical skills improvement
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and specialized training of New Flammability Certification Engineers in Aerospace Interiors
• Identify skill gaps related to new products and develop targeted training plans
• Liaise with product stake holders (Customer, Design and Manufacturing) to identify potential benefits in terms of cost savings (reduction of testing, alternate materials usage and so on).
• To guide team members on gaining the “Checker” signatory delegation through identification of appropriate requirements, trainings and mentor check opportunities

Qualifications You Must Have *

A university degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Flammability (or) an Advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Flammability.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Good to have Interiors product line experience preferably in Flammability Certification. Materials knowledge is definitely a plus especially non-metallics.
• Experience managing end-to-end project execution across multiple programs or product lines is preferred. Experience participating in Design Reviews, OEM Flammability Certification reviews is beneficial. Proven ability to mentor and train junior team members, ensuring consistency in quality and delivery.
• Excellent planning and communication skills with a pro-active and collaborative mindset. Must be meticulous towards compliance requirements with focus on quality and schedule. Should be empathetic, diligent, maintain good ethics and promote team culture
