Omnium services-Associate Consultant, iNFORMATION DELIVERY

Role

The job requires working for a Global Hedge Fund Administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. The position requires very good understanding of various investment instruments like Equities, Fixed Income Products, Derivatives, Swaps, CFDs, Repos etc. The position requires experience and in-depth knowledge in financial markets and middle & back office functions.

Major Duties

  • Understanding of entire dataflow and understanding of inter team dependencies like FC, IA/IS and Compares.
  • Analyse every report sent out to client to identify discrepancies between compared reports with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Proactive communication and Liaise effectively with team members, internal groups and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring deliverables are adhered to as per agreed SLAs by helping team members in resolving their queries and issues.
  • Daily reviews to ensure the process is in adherence with SOPs and the same are updated as required.
  • Should be capable of adding and reviewing various control checks.
  • Understand and minimize risks associated with breaks and trade mismatches.
  • Understanding the settlement of cash flows associated with various financial instruments.
  • Issue escalation and resolution on a timely manner.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to queries in a high volume, time sensitive trading environment.
  • Prioritize time accordingly to action trade breaks by timelines.
  • Developing action plans for resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Ability to work on ad-hoc activities.
  • Should have the ability to maintain various MIS reports.
  • Consistently look to streamline and automate the reporting/analytical process with the use of technology
 

Accountabilities

  • Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role
  • Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas the incumbent is responsible for are organised and controlled
  • Employees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties
  • Reports to TL/Section Manager

Skills

  • Good analytical, numerical and reasoning skills
  • Approachable and able to promote teamwork through creative solutions
  • Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel & Word)
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write business correspondence.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team
  • Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Master degree a plus
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of work experience in a Financial Institution with a minimum of 2 years in reconciliations related activities.
  • Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, familiarity with financial markets and instruments.
  • Should be flexible for shifts and extended working hours.


 

Eligibility for Internal partner

•24 months as a Senior Analyst to move as a Technical coordinator/Associate Consultant.
•Movement within TC and Associate Consultant is 12 months
