The Role:

As an Assistant Product Manager at Public, you will support the management and growth of the Books & Music category within the Commercial Entertainment team. Working closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to assortment planning, supplier coordination, sales analysis, promotional activities, and the successful execution of the category strategy.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded and analytical professional who is passionate about books, music, and retail, and is looking to build a career in Product Management within a fast-paced omnichannel environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of the Books & Music product portfolio, ensuring product availability and category performance
  • Assist in the planning and execution of new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional activities
  • Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and key commercial KPIs, identifying opportunities and risks
  • Prepare sales reports, product analyses, forecasts, and presentations to support business decisions
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding product information, pricing, promotions, and order management
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, E-commerce, Visual Merchandising, and Store Operations teams to ensure effective product positioning and execution.
  • Analyze competitor activity, market trends, and customer insights to support category development.
  • Maintain accurate product master data and support the execution of commercial and operational processes
  • Contribute to assortment planning and product lifecycle management to optimize sales and profitability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in Product Management, Buying, Category Management, Purchasing, Commercial Support, or a similar retail role
  • Strong interest in the books, music, and entertainment industry
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP knowledge will be considered an advantage)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams in a dynamic retail environment
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
