Job Description

Purpose of the Job

Join a high-performing Corporate Services team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience to a diverse portfolio of clients. As an Assistant Manager, you'll combine client relationship management, operational oversight and people leadership to help drive the success of both your portfolio and team. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen client partnerships, contribute to business growth and develop talented professionals, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant and efficient services. You'll work closely with a variety of stakeholders, identify opportunities to add value and play an important role in fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of a client portfolio, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact and identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and support portfolio growth.
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, cash collection activities and portfolio performance to support strong commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure client records, documentation and operational processes are maintained to high standards and remain compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor key operational, compliance and risk management activities, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and obligations are met.
  • Coordinate board meeting processes, including the timely preparation of meeting materials, meeting administration and follow-up actions.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team through effective delegation, ongoing feedback, knowledge sharing and performance support.
  • Foster a collaborative, client-focused culture while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree or professional qualification (such as ACCA, CFA, CGI or equivalent) would be an advantage.
  • 5-8 years' experience within Corporate Services or a similar financial services environment, including experience mentoring, supervising or leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate services, governance and regulatory frameworks, with familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Financial Services Act, Companies Act, Insurance Act and Income Tax Act.
  • Proven ability to build trusted client relationships, manage stakeholder expectations and deliver a consistently high standard of client service.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing portfolio performance, billing processes and identifying opportunities to enhance client value.
  • Proficiency in document management and client administration systems, combined with excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
