Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Admission, reporting to the Dean of Admission or their designee, is responsible for recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling prospective undergraduate students through a comprehensive and selective admission process. The position serves as the primary admission representative for Endicott College's Connecticut recruitment territory, encompassing the majority of the state, and is responsible for developing and executing territory-specific recruitment strategies that support institutional enrollment goals. The Assistant Director promotes the College's commitment to academic excellence, belonging, and global citizenship while providing exceptional service to prospective students and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Management & Recruitment (30%)

·Develop and implement a strategic recruitment plan for an assigned geographic territory designed to achieve enrollment goals.

·Represent Endicott College through high school visits, college fairs, counselor programs, community events, and virtual recruitment activities.

·Build and maintain strong relationships with secondary school counselors, community-based organizations, independent counselors, and prospective students.

·Analyze recruitment trends and territory performance to identify opportunities for enrollment growth.

·Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory during the fall and spring recruitment cycles.

Student Recruitment & Enrollment (25%)

  • Conduct information sessions, interviews, and individual counseling appointments for prospective students and families.
  • Communicate the value of an Endicott education through in-person, virtual, phone, and email interactions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with prospective students throughout the enrollment process.
  • Participate in recruitment and yield programming including Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, and virtual events.

Application Review (20%)

  • Evaluate undergraduate applications using a holistic admission review process.
  • Recommend admission decisions consistent with institutional enrollment goals and admission standards.
  • Recommend institutional scholarships and grants based upon academic achievement, character, and financial need.
  • Maintain accurate applicant records utilizing Slate and other institutional systems.

Student & Campus Engagement (10%)

  • Serve as a liaison with campus partners.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and timely communication to students and families.

Campus Partnerships & Admission Operations (10%)

  • Serve as a liaison with faculty and campus departments to support recruitment initiatives.
  • Assist with admission events, visitor programming, and special enrollment projects.
  • Contribute to ongoing assessment and improvement of admission operations.

Professional Development & Strategic Initiatives (5%)

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current with admission and enrollment trends.
  • Support departmental initiatives and strategic enrollment planning.
  • Contribute ideas that improve recruitment strategies and operational effectiveness.

Community Engagement

Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck events while demonstrating collaboration and community engagement.

Reporting Structure


Reports to the Dean of Admission or designated supervisor. Works under general supervision while exercising considerable independent judgment in territory management and recruitment activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of undergraduate admission or related higher education experience.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse populations.
  • Experience utilizing Slate or comparable CRM systems preferred.
  • Ability to analyze recruitment data and develop territory strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Uses sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing a geographic recruitment territory.
  • Experience presenting to large groups.
  • Experience planning recruitment events or yield programming.

In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000–$70,000. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work experience, education, specialized skills, internal equity, and external market data when extending an offer. The final salary is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or other compensation.
