JOB DESCRIPTION

The Attorney General’s Office in Augusta has a vacancy for a full-time position as an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division. The attorney in this position will investigate and litigate consumer protection matters, with a particular focus on issues relating to housing and mobile home parks that are referred to the Division for investigation and enforcement or are otherwise within the scope of the Attorney General’s authority under the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act and other consumer protection laws.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Essential qualifications for this position include strong written and oral advocacy skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.  Candidates must be well-organized and manage multiple tasks effectively.  Prior civil litigation experience, particularly on the plaintiff’s side, is preferred.  Candidates must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing.
