About the Role

We are looking to work with a new Architectural Designer within our Broadway studio at Journey. This role is suited to an architectural designer with formal training and those interested in applying an architectural design approach to an interdisplinary design company. The role will work across a diverse range of projects alongside a collaborative team, you'll build new skills, contribute to meaningful design work, and gain exposure to every stage of the creative process.

We're looking to work with someone who brings curiousity, thoughtfulness, and is excited to grow in a new design context. You'll collaborate with designers, strategists, clients, consultants, and fabricators to help develop design concepts and bring them to life with creativity, care, rigor and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist senior designers to conceptualise and develop design schemes for projects.
  • Actively contribute to design and documentation of projects through all project phases under the direction of more senior members.
  • Participate in client meetings and craft elaborate client presentations to communicate design concepts effectively
  • Conduct research on materials, products, and trends to inform design decisions.
  • Create and produce detailed models and design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD under the direction of more senior members.
  • Select and specify architectural finishes
  • Design, detail and specify custom FF&E
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. 

Candidate Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Formal training such as B.Arch or B.S in Architecture or related field from an accredited school
  • MApproximately 2 years of post-graduate design experience in an architectural and/or interior design studio.
  • Strong Revit, Enscape and AutoCAD skills
  • Ability to model in 3DS Max, Rhino or Revit
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with designers across the studios

Desirable

  • Experience working in interdisciplinary design teams

Location: This opportunity is located at our Broadway Studio in New York. On this occasion, we can only consider applications from those fully authorised to work in the U.S. We value regular in-person collaboration because we think it leads to the best creative work however hybrid working is available around project commitments.

Contract: Full time, permanent
