About this role

As an Analyst - Transportation, you will be responsible for providing analytical support for transportation programs including small package, LTL, private fleet, dedicated, international, courier, truckload, rail or expedited. You will also be responsible for supporting government regulatory agencies, auxiliary programs including car allowance reimbursement, freight audit and payment, and supply chain analytics. This role has a strong international transportation focus and partners with internal teams and global offices to coordinate compliant export shipments across multiple regions worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist to develop, negotiate, and administer national programs for specific modes, including small package, LTL, private fleet, dedicated, international, courier, truckload, rail and expedited.
  • Coordinate transportation activities with domestic and international warehouses while supporting global shipment execution across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and Latin America.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Analyze and improve mode-specific service and expense metrics.
  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly management reporting to support transportation visibility and operational decision-making across global teams.
  • Provide specific analysis on transportation or supply chain initiatives.
  • Participate in LEAN initiatives.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance at branches and distribution centers. 
  • Ensure company dangerous goods policies meet specific laws and regulations governing safe handling, packaging, and transportation of materials, and employees are properly trained and documented.
  • Analyze shipments for export compliance, dangerous goods requirements, and documentation accuracy while coordinating shipment execution, tracking, and issue resolution with freight carriers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coach warehouse personnel on export preparation, packaging, documentation, and shipment readiness for international transportation.
  • May manage self-clearance customs process through preparing entries and submissions to respective agencies.
  • May assist with yearly free trade agreement solicitations, qualifications and renewals, preparation of blanket and individual certificates of origin.
  • May assist with the implementation of any new customs initiatives or projects
  • Build collaborative relationships with global business partners while supporting transportation activities across multiple countries, cultures, and time zones.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required
  • Associates’ Degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada) preferred
  • 2 years required of transportation, customs, logistics or supply chain
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, and OneNote)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated
  • Strong computer skills (SharePoint, Transportation & customs-specific systems)
  • Knowledge of Tariff Classification
  • Knowledge of international shipping terms (Incoterms) and export transportation processes preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and communicating across global teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse cultures and time zones.
This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
