We are looking for an Analyst – Data & Business Intelligence who will partner with leaders across Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Finance, Commercial, and IT to ensure critical business decisions are supported by reliable, consistent, and actionable insights. 

 

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing a strong data culture, defining governance standards, driving business intelligence adoption, and ensuring data becomes a strategic asset across the organization. 

 

About the Role 

 

As the Analyst – Data & Business Intelligence, you will own the business value, governance, prioritisation, and adoption of data and business intelligence initiatives. Working closely with IT in a "one team, two hats" partnership, you will focus on the business outcomes, governance, and decision-making frameworks while supporting the development of trusted and certified data products. 

 

You will be responsible for creating a single source of truth for business performance, enabling leaders to make informed decisions with confidence. 

Key Responsibilities

Lead Governance & Prioritisation 

• Develop, maintain, and manage a lightweight governance framework including councils, data owners, stewards, KPIs, and decision-making processes. 

• Ensure data initiatives are aligned with corporate strategy and business priorities. 

Partner with IT 

• Collaborate closely with IT to define standards for data workspaces, pipelines, certification processes, and governance. 

• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable value. 

Champion Data-Driven Decision Making 

• Drive business ownership of key metrics and performance indicators. 

• Establish and maintain a trusted "single source of truth" across the organization. 

• Ensure business intelligence initiatives are linked to strategic objectives and measurable outcomes. 

Define KPI Standards & Data Governance 

• Develop and maintain KPI dictionaries, business glossaries, and ownership models. 

• Standardize definitions, formulas, and accountability for critical data assets. 

• Certify datasets used for executive reporting and strategic decision making. 

• Reduce duplication and "shadow reporting" through governance and adoption. 

Drive Adoption & Data Literacy 

• Promote data literacy throughout the organization through training, office hours, champion networks, and communications. 

• Build confidence in reporting tools, analytics solutions, and governance practices. 

• Support cultural change toward evidence-based decision making. 

Executive Storytelling & Business Performance 

• Translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights. 

• Create concise executive performance packs and reporting materials. 

• Facilitate decision-making forums, performance reviews, and leadership briefings. 

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

About You 

 

You are a strategic thinker with a passion for turning data into business value. You are equally comfortable discussing KPIs with executives as you are collaborating with technical teams to ensure data integrity and governance. 

 

Required Experience 

• Proven experience in data driven roles focused on analytics, business intelligence, or performance management. 

• Demonstrated success delivering measurable business value through data-driven initiatives, governance, and adoption programs. 

• Strong presence with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and compelling way. 

• Experience influencing decisions, securing stakeholder buy-in, and driving organizational change. 

• Working knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric concepts, including:  

• • Semantic models 

• • Data pipelines 

• • Role-level security 

• • Sensitivity labels 

• Experience within aviation, oil & gas, emergency services, or similarly regulated and operationally complex industries is advantageous.
