Team Overview

The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Operations Supervisor acts as a critical bridge between the Operations Analysts and upper compliance management. The Supervisor ensures that the team efficiently identifies, investigates, and escalates potential financial crimes while strictly adhering to regulatory standards.

The Supervisor is responsible for managing the team for daily operations, providing support on assigned work, keeping track of the team’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and providing feedback to the team, regarding performance results and improvements required.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage daily workflows, task allocations, and performance metrics (OKR-KPI) for a team of AML Operations analysts.

  • Review sample of alerts handled by the AML Operations Team, ensuring compliance with standard process, risk coverage, and validate the accuracy of cases outcomes.

  • Provide support to management to reduce false positives by escalating inconsistencies with alerts handled by the AML Operations team.

  • Handle high-risk or advanced escalations that require deeper analytical review before regulatory reporting.

  • Coach analysts and provide ongoing training on AML case handle, risk indicators and emerging financial crime typologies.

  • Act as POC between the AML Operations team and the QA team, regarding scores, disputes, training and best practices.

  • Generate operational reports and performance dashboards for senior management and decision-makers.

  • Work with Management to maintain continuous improvement on the team’s operations, identifying opportunity areas in processes such case handling, alerting criteria, in-house system enhancements, among others.

  • Collaborate with areas such as Screening and Fraud to share best practices, case studies and investigations results that could benefit the areas.

 

Role Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, audit or a related field.

Experience: 4+ years of AML transaction monitoring or financial crimes investigative experience, plus 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience with Operations Teams.

Core Skills: Strong knowledge of Mexican regulations, specially those applicable to SOFIPO, data analysis, and clear communication. Strong understanding and execution of team performance management through KPIs and OKRs.

Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in English is required. Must be fully comfortable reading regulatory documentation and participating in meetings with global stakeholders.

Work Arrangement: Willingness and ability to work 100% on-site at the Risk Central Operations  office location.

Certifications: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) preferred but not mandatory.
