About this role

Build AI solutions that change how operations work

We are looking for a hands-on AI Enablement Lead who can turn complex operational challenges into practical, scalable AI solutions.

This is not a role focused only on AI strategy or experimentation. You will design, build, deploy and maintain solutions that improve operational processes, reduce cost-to-serve and continue running with minimal manual effort.

You will work with frontier AI technologies, including large language models, AI agents, agentic workflows, forecasting, optimisation and anomaly-detection models. Most importantly, you will turn these technologies into working solutions that deliver measurable business value.

What you’ll be doing

Build practical AI solutions

  • Design and deploy AI solutions that improve operational processes.
  • Build with LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, forecasting, optimisation and anomaly-detection models.
  • Rapidly prototype and test solutions before taking successful concepts into production.
  • Work on use cases such as cash-demand forecasting, lease abstraction, escalation alerts, card stock and fuel anomaly detection, and route optimisation.

Automate processes and data standards

  • Identify opportunities to automate how operational data is created, submitted and reconciled.
  • Develop solutions that improve consistency, accuracy and efficiency across territories.
  • Ensure agreed data standards continue to be met, with or without automation.

Keep solutions working

  • Monitor AI solutions once they are in production.
  • Identify and resolve model drift, failures and performance issues.
  • Keep solutions current as AI models and capabilities evolve.
  • Document prompts, controls and standard operating procedures so that portfolio teams can confidently use and maintain the solutions.

Connect AI insights to the business

  • Collaborate with BI analysts to ensure live Power BI dashboards are supported by reliable data and AI solutions.
  • Capture before-and-after operating data to demonstrate the value delivered by each solution.
  • Provide the evidence needed to build business cases and support Finance’s certification of savings.

Build responsibly

  • Work within approved security, data and technology guardrails.
  • Recognise when a solution requires core-system integration, an enterprise platform or a customer-facing product.
  • Partner with the CIO and AiOps teams through the relevant AI intake and handover processes.

Enable others

  • Train and support portfolio owners, schedulers and BI analysts who use the solutions.
  • Share practical AI methods with other AI and BI specialists.
  • Help teams understand how to use, monitor and maintain AI-enabled processes effectively.

What you’ll bring

  • A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Equivalent demonstrable experience may also be considered.
  • At least four years’ experience building data, automation or AI solutions.
  • Recent hands-on experience delivering solutions using LLMs and AI agents in a business-process environment.
  • Exposure to operations, logistics, payments or financial services would be advantageous.
  • Experience working across multiple African countries would also be beneficial.

Your technical toolkit

You should have advanced, practical experience in:

  • Frontier LLM APIs and agent frameworks
  • Prompt and context design
  • Python and SQL
  • Forecasting and optimisation methods
  • Workflow automation
  • Power BI data modelling
  • AI coding platforms such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor or equivalent
  • Designing and deploying multi-step AI agents
  • API and tool integration
  • Context and memory management
  • Error handling, evaluation and production monitoring

Experience with cash logistics, fleet or estate data, Microsoft Power Platform, and evaluating LLM outputs in production would be advantageous.

Show us what you’ve built

We are looking for more than theoretical AI knowledge or basic prompting experience.

You should be able to share a portfolio of agentic solutions that you have personally built and deployed. This could include working demonstrations, code repositories or production solutions that show:

  • The business problem you solved
  • Your technical architecture and agent design
  • How the solution planned, used tools or APIs and acted on data
  • How you handled orchestration, memory, errors and monitoring
  • The measurable outcome delivered

You’ll thrive in this role if you

  • Enjoy turning operational problems into working solutions.
  • Are comfortable building, testing and improving rapidly.
  • Balance experimentation with security and responsible governance.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Document your work so others can use and maintain it.
  • Work effectively across Operations, BI, Technology and Finance.
  • Care about measurable outcomes, not only impressive technology.
