Baker's Bay Golf & Ocean Club is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Accounts Department.The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial
records, and ensuring vendors and suppliers are paid accurately and on time. The role supports the
organization’s accounting operations, requires strict adherence to company policies, and involves handling
confidential financial information.
. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices for payment • Prepare payments – checks and electronic transfers and record accurately in the accounting software • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly • Maintain accurate accounts payable records and support files • Onboard vendors in accordance with company policies, requirements, and established procedures • Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and account reconciliation • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities • Prepare reports related to accounts payable as requested by manager • Maintain confidentiality of financial information • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: • Associate degree, diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred • Minimum of one year experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping or general accounting. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills preferred • Working knowledge of accounting principles, accounts payable processes, and financial recordkeeping practices • Strong numerical and analytical abilities, attention to detail, effective organizational and time management skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills • Experience working in a high-volume accounts payable environment • Familiarity with ERP and accounting systems, including Sage, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of Bahamian accounting practices, business operations, and regulatory requirements • Experience working in the hospitality or private club industries preferred
