We're looking for an experienced Account Director to join our Client Services team and take ownership of a portfolio of high-value global accounts. This is a senior client leadership role where you'll combine strategic thinking, commercial acumen and relationship-building expertise to deliver exceptional results for our clients and our business.

You'll become a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, guiding marketing and communications strategies, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

As an Account Director, you'll:

Lead strategic client relationships

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Act as a strategic advisor, helping clients achieve their long-term business goals.
• Develop and oversee marketing communications plans that deliver measurable impact.
• Lead key client projects from brief through to delivery, ensuring objectives are achieved.

Drive growth and commercial success

• Identify opportunities to grow existing client accounts and maximise long-term value.
• Support business development activity, including proposals, pitches and contract negotiations.
• Manage complex account budgets, ensuring profitability and effective resource allocation.
• Proactively manage financial performance, forecasts, invoicing and project profitability.

Collaborate across the agency

• Work closely with delivery, creative, digital, finance and business development teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Produce clear, effective briefs that align teams around client goals and expectations.
• Contribute to agency-wide initiatives and strategic growth opportunities.

Mentor and inspire

• Support and guide colleagues within the Client Services team.
• Share knowledge and best practice across the agency.
• Champion Fifth Ring's values, culture and commitment to excellence.

What you'll be doing

What we're looking for

Essential

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related subject.
• Demonstrable experience within a marketing communications agency environment, with a proven track record of managing client accounts and delivering strategic marketing programmes.
• Strong experience managing multiple client accounts and stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication, relationship management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of marketing channels, strategy and campaign delivery.
• Confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills.
• Fluent in English.

Desirable

• Business development experience.
• Experience within the energy sector.
• Knowledge of relevant target industries and B2B markets.
