It now offers more than 55 undergraduate degree programs as well as an honors college. Most students hail from South Texas and 60% are Hispanic. Outside of class, students can enjoy a 250-acre campus that includes a university farm, as well as the beaches of Corpus Christi 40 miles away. The campus is also home to the National Natural Toxins Research Center, a serpentarium that boasts a large collection of venomous snakes and attracts researchers from around the world.
