Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) is one of the leading city gas distribution (CGD) companies in India. It has more than 20 years of experience in supplying natural gas in Mumbai and is presently the sole authorised distributor of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in Mumbai, its adjoining areas and in Raigad district. MGL is an enterprise of GAIL (India) Limited (Maharatna Company of Govt. of India), Government of Maharashtra and BG Asia Pacific Holdings Pte. Limited (owned by Royal Dutch Shell group). Today, MGL reaches out to more than 10 lakh households and above 3400 small commercial and industrial establishments. MGL also supplies CNG to above 6 lakh public and private transport vehicles.
